TEACHER PROFILES
Mariana Militaru is an affiliated Anusara Teacher. She was attracted to yoga philosophy as a teenager but did not take a yoga class until 1987. She continued to practice yoga regularly and study with various gifted teachers. Ten years later she went to India to study with the masters at the Iyengar Institute. After returning from India, in the summer of 1997, she took her first class with John Friend, the founder of Anusara Yoga. She was instantly captivated by this open hearted and elegant style. Since that time, Mariana has attended more than 500 hours of teacher trainings, workshops, and retreats with John Friend. She was inspired to share the wonderful gift of yoga and in 1998 she opened Yoga Tree Studio and started teaching herself. Her classes combine the celebration of goodness in all people and all things with the attention to alignment so that students can realize their own potential.
